who we are

The International Leadership Council is a University of Chicago student organization founded in 2003 by Karan Goel in order to connect business oriented students and provide a platform for the sharing of knowledge and ideas. Over the past eleven years, ILC has expanded to provide members with three updated, specialized divisions: Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Technology.

Finance aims to give its members a groundwork in financial theory and a setting to discuss market movements, practice industry research, and provide analysis and commentary. Check out ILC: Finance's blog here.

Entrepreneurship provides its members with a hands on experience in the business and logistics of creating and maintaining a startup.

Technology offers its members a chance to take part in the webdesign and marketing of a number of RSO’s on campus.

These divisions have created a supportive network on which to build and grow. With weekly meetings and a competitive membership, ILC remains one of the leading student organizations on campus.

our organizing principles

Every new generation brings its own unique flavor to ILC, but a few principles stretch across all divisions and back to the founding of the club.

Think Tank: This was a phrase used to describe ILC at its inception and it still applies today. Every division encourages the development and sharing of new ideas, whether in the form of trading strategies, startup proposals, or stock pitches. The group’s consideration, rigorous discussion, and possible of adoption of new projects, strategies, and techniques keeps ILC constantly progressing and evolving.

Developed Skill Set: True competence demands both hard and soft skills - to know when to look towards the statistics and when to follow your instincts. ILC is committed to endowing its members with both the technical knowhow and the macroscopic understanding the to make truly informed decisions.

Mentorship: Each year’s analyst class brings great new minds to the club and the leadership makes sure that everyone has the foundation of knowledge and experience they need to contribute to their fullest. The continuing mentoring of new members befinites everyone and creates lasting personal connections.

Purposful Network: We use our network to help each other succeed, to provide support and advice when needed, and to stay in contact with our graduated members.
